ASV Scanning for PCI Security Compliance
AWA is partnered with an approved scanning vendor to deliver a comprehensive and cost-effective ASV scanning solution. AWA’s ASV scanning solution delivers a secure cloud portal where scans can be created, managed, and monitored by both AWA and client teams. Utilizing this portal, reports are delivered immediately for clients to download and kept indefinitely for client evidence requirements.
What Is ASV Scanning?
An ASV scan is an external vulnerability assessment performed by an approved scanning vendor (ASV) on the external perimeter of the PCI DSS scope in accordance with the PCI DSS Requirement 11.2.2. An organization that wishes to become PCI Certified must have a passing ASV scan performed quarterly.
To become an approved scanning vendor, an organization must register with and be tested by the PCI Security Standards Council. The Council will test the organizations based on the administration, performance, and reporting of the scan.
PCI compliance requires quarterly external vulnerability scans done by an Approved Scanning Vendor (ASV) authorized by the Payment Card Industry Security Standards Council (PCI SSC).
